What this request can cover
A deletion request may concern an account, information attached to that account, or information provided through a public enquiry. Identify the relevant account or service as clearly as you can without sharing credentials or unrelated sensitive information.
The public website does not provide an authenticated instant-deletion control. The dedicated request form starts the review and allows DaoJoy to explain an appropriate verification method.
Verification protects the account holder
Deleting an account or associated information can be difficult to reverse. DaoJoy may therefore need to check that the requester is authorised to act for the relevant account. The information needed should be proportionate to the request, and a copy of an identity document should not be sent unless a secure and necessary method has first been agreed.
Information that may remain
Deletion is not always identical to erasing every record immediately. Some limited information may need to remain where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, financial or service records, legal obligations, dispute handling, or to record that a deletion request was completed. The applicable response should explain any such limitation rather than implying that every system behaves the same way.
Removing an account may also make associated trips, conversations, saved information or access unavailable. Ask for clarification before proceeding if the scope is uncertain.
Requests concerning another traveler
Do not request deletion of another person’s information unless you are authorised to act for them. Where a trip includes several travelers, DaoJoy may need to separate one person’s request from information that also concerns others.
